My Refresher Evenings are one off, three hour long sessions, which prepare you for the birth of your second child, and raise money for a good cause at the same time.
You will be invited into my home for a relaxed and informative session where you will have the opportunity to debrief your first birth and feeding experiences, and focus on the birth and future that lies ahead. Alongside other local mums all expecting number two around the same time as you, you will have the chance to discuss your experiences and hear theirs, and build up a handy support network in the process! You will learn ways to prepare your older child for the arrival of their sibling and the inevitable change in family dynamics, and get some great tips on coping with and enjoying two children. You will also have the opportunity to practise some (really excellent) physical skills to help you cope with your second labour and birth, however it might turn out.
All situations will be catered for – whether you are planning a vaginal birth after a caesarean birth, (VBAC), need help finding a doula, or simply want to brush up on breathing and baby care, the evening will cover whatever you need it to, so that you leave feeling confident, and excited about the future.
You will receive a pasta supper as well as unlimited drinks throughout the evening. If you are so inclined you would be more than welcome to bring a treat for pudding!
In exchange I ask for a donation of £25 to Little Village (www.littlevillagehq.org):
“Little Village provide good quality baby clothes and equipment, donated by local families, to local families who need it. We promote sustainable living, and make it easy for local families to help one another in a respectful, non-judgemental, non-patronising way. We came together as a group of local parents, and we now run it as an entirely voluntary enterprise.”
Too much baby stuff clogging up your home? Too many baby clothes for your little one to ever wear? Donate it to Little Village, where we will make sure it goes directly to a local family in need. A gift from one family to another. And/or if you are interested in volunteering with us pop along to our Wednesday drop in, from 9.30am at St. Mark’s church hall in Rowfant Road.
PLEASE NOTE – SINCE MOVING TO HOLLAND MY GORGEOUS COLLEAGUE AND FRIEND FIONA MACFARLANE HAS KINDLY TAKEN OVER THE RUNNING OF THE LONDON SESSIONS. YOU CAN CONTACT HER ON:
